Advertiser Policy
Last Updated: September 10, 2025
Overview
Vignetta's Advertiser Policy outlines the requirements and guidelines for advertisements displayed on our platform. These policies ensure that ads are safe, respectful, transparent, and appropriate for Vignetta's global audience of viewers, creators, and advertisers. All ads must comply with this Advertiser Policy, Vignetta's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Copyright Policy, Privacy Policy, and applicable laws.
This policy applies to all advertisers, including those running campaigns through Vignetta's ad platform, as well as creators incorporating paid promotions or sponsorships in their content. We use a combination of automated systems and human review to enforce these policies. Violations may result in ad disapproval, account suspension, or other enforcement actions.
1. Content Restrictions
Ads and promoted content on Vignetta must not contain or promote the following:
1.1 Harmful or Dangerous Content
- Content that encourages or depicts dangerous activities, illegal behavior, or harm to individuals or property (e.g., pranks involving suicide, terrorism, or hazardous stunts).
- Promotion of tobacco, tobacco-related products, recreational drugs, or drug paraphernalia.
- Content showcasing gratuitous violence, blood, or injury without educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic (EDSA) context.
1.2 Hateful or Derogatory Content
- Content that incites hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected attributes.
- Content that is gratuitously inflammatory, demeaning, or harassing.
1.3 Misinformation
- Ads containing false or misleading claims about products, services, or events (e.g., exaggerated health benefits, get-rich-quick schemes, or conspiracy theories).
- Content that promotes disinformation or undermines public trust in verified information, such as false claims about elections or public health.
1.4 Adult Content
- Sexually explicit or suggestive content, including nudity or provocative imagery.
- Content promoting sexual acts in exchange for compensation or adult-oriented services.
1.5 Shocking or Graphic Content
- Content that may upset, disgust, or shock viewers, such as graphic depictions of medical procedures, mutilation, or horror themes unsuitable for general audiences.
- Content that promotes negative behaviors inappropriate for younger audiences (e.g., realistic violence, drug use, or profanity in thumbnails or titles).
1.6 Controversial Issues
Ads discussing sensitive topics (e.g., abortion, political conflicts, or terrorism) must be presented in a non-graphic, non-inflammatory manner and may be subject to limited distribution.
2. Transparency and Disclosure
To maintain trust with our audience, advertisers and creators must adhere to the following transparency requirements:
- Clear Identification of Ads: All ads and sponsored content must be clearly labeled as such (e.g., using "Sponsored," "Ad," or "Paid Partnership" disclosures).
- Honest Representation: Ads must not omit relevant information (e.g., billing details, fees, or terms) or make unrealistic claims about products or services.
- Paid Promotions: Creators incorporating paid promotions in their content must disclose the nature of the promotion conspicuously in the video and description.
3. Quality and Editorial Standards
Ads on Vignetta must meet high-quality standards to ensure a positive user experience:
- Technical Quality: Video and audio assets must be clear, professional, and free from distortions or errors.
- Relevance: Ads must be relevant to the content or audience they target and comply with Vignetta's targeting policies.
- Prohibited Tactics: Ads must not use clickbait, deceptive thumbnails, or misleading titles to attract viewers.
- Language Use: Profanity or vulgarity in ads is prohibited, except in limited cases where it serves an artistic purpose (e.g., music videos) and is not prominent.
4. Privacy and Data Practices
Advertisers must respect user privacy and comply with Vignetta's Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA):
- Data Collection: Ads must not collect personal data without user consent or use insecure methods (e.g., non-secure servers for credit card information).
- Targeting Practices: Ads must not target users based on sensitive attributes (e.g., sexual orientation or financial status) or violate Vignetta's interest-based advertising policies.
- Tracking Pixels: Third-party tracking pixels must comply with Vignetta's third-party ad serving requirements and are limited to impression, view, and skip events.
5. Monetization and Creator Responsibilities
Creators participating in Vignetta's Reward Partner Program must ensure their content is advertiser-friendly to monetize with ads:
- Advertiser-Friendly Content Guidelines: Content must align with Vignetta's guidelines, which prohibit excessive profanity, violence, or sensitive themes without EDSA context. For example:
- Profanity in the first 30 seconds, title, or thumbnail may result in limited or no ads.
- Content focusing on war, tragedy, or mass shootings may be ineligible for monetization unless presented with EDSA context.
- Self-Certification: Creators must self-certify their content's compliance with advertiser-friendly guidelines during upload. Discrepancies between creator certification and Vignetta's review may impact monetization eligibility.
- Inauthentic Content: Mass-produced, repetitive, or templated content is ineligible for monetization.
6. Restricted Content
Certain content may be allowed but subject to limited distribution or additional requirements:
- Sensitive Topics: Ads promoting alcohol, gambling, or high-fat/sugar foods may be restricted to specific audiences or regions and require advertiser certification.
- Social Applications: Ads for social apps (e.g., dating or meeting platforms) must not contain adult content, live streaming, or suggestive themes.
- Health and Wellness: Ads for health products must not make unverified claims or promote non-medical treatments for serious conditions.
7. Enforcement and Appeals
Vignetta enforces its Advertiser Policy through automated detection and human review:
- Violations: Non-compliant ads may be disapproved, restricted, or removed. Repeated violations may lead to account suspension or termination.
- Appeals: Advertisers can appeal disapproved ads through Vignetta's ad platform or by submitting a policy dispute form. Appeals are not available for all cases (e.g., court-ordered removals).
- Creator Demonetization: Videos or channels violating advertiser-friendly guidelines may receive limited or no ads. Creators can request human review for demonetized content.
8. Policy Updates
Vignetta may update this Advertiser Policy periodically to reflect changes in platform standards, user expectations, or legal requirements. Advertisers and creators are responsible for staying informed about policy changes.
By adhering to Vignetta's Advertiser Policy, advertisers and creators contribute to a safe, trustworthy, and engaging platform for all users.
